Description
Juvetrope is a brand of recombinant human growth hormone (HGH) produced using advanced DNA technology. It is designed to be used in injection form and is marketed under the brand name Juvetrope.
Uses:
Juvetrope is primarily used for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency in children and adults. In children, it can also be used for short stature associated with Turner syndrome and chronic renal insufficiency. In addition, Juvetrope is used for the treatment of wasting associated with AIDS and for bodybuilding purposes. It can also promote growth, repair, and energy in the body.
Storage Conditions:
Juvetrope should be stored in a refrigerator at a temperature between 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F) until used. Once in use, it can be stored at room temperature for up to 28 days. If not in use, it should be returned to the refrigerator. The pen should not be frozen, and the contents should not be used after the expiration date.
Mechanism of Action:
Juvetrope works by stimulating the liver and other tissues in the body to produce insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1), which promotes growth and repair in the body. It also regulates the metabolism of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates. Additionally, Juvetrope supports immune function, increases bone density, and enhances cognitive function.
HOW TO USE:
The patient should follow the instructions of the healthcare provider when using Juvetrope. The injection site should be cleaned with an alcohol swab, and the injection site should be rotated between different areas of the body. The dose should be measured accurately using the dosage indicator on the pen. The needle should be inserted into the skin at a 90-degree angle, and the hormone should be injected subcutaneously.
Precautions:
• Juvetrope should not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to somatropin or any of the other ingredients in the medication.
• Juvetrope should be used with caution in patients with high levels of growth hormone.
• Patients should monitor blood glucose levels regularly, especially if they have diabetes or have a family history of it.
• Juvetrope should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Drug Interactions:
• Patients who take glucocorticoids or other medications that affect growth hormone levels may see a reduction in the effectiveness of Juvetrope.
• Juvetrope may interact with insulin and other hypoglycemic agents, which can lead to a decrease in their effectiveness. Dose adjustments may be necessary.
• Drugs that stimulate the release of growth hormone, such as clonidine and levodopa, may interact with Juvetrope.
Contraindications:
• Juvetrope should not be used in patients with active or pre-existing tumors or growths.
• It is not recommended for patients with closed epiphyses, severe respiratory impairment, critical illness, or severe obesity.
• Juvetrope should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Overdose:
An overdose of Juvetrope may cause symptoms such as headache, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, sweating, and flushing. If an overdose is suspected, patients should seek emergency medical attention.
Adverse Reactions:
The most common side effects of Juvetrope include swelling or redness at the injection site, joint pain, muscle pain, and fever. Other potential side effects include increased blood glucose levels, swelling in the hands and feet, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Patients should contact their healthcare provider if they experience any unusual symptoms while using Juvetrope.
